"For my Cleats for a Cause, I chose the Susan G. Komen Foundation in honor of my grandmother and everyone who has battled breast cancer. This foundation invests in funding for breast cancer research and fights to find a cure. The women who have experienced this disease battle every day and show so much strength to keep fighting, which is why the cleat boldly states “SHE IS STRONG”. The Bible verse Proverbs 31:25 is written on the cleat and sums up the ways in which women face challenges, while still living in the moment. “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.” Keep fighting."

"I feel like people who play softball or people who play sports in general think they have to choose to follow christ or play the sport. But the whole point is that the sport you play is not your identity but who you are in Christ is your identity."

Heather taught me about being strong, she never gave up, never quit fighting and I think that’s something everybody can use. Since then, sunflowers have been a huge part of my life because they were her favorite flower and yellow is the color for children’s cancer. I’ve wanted to do as much as I can for those young kids because Heather gave so much back to me.

Human trafficking is something that I feel passionate about and think we don’t talk enough about. It is an issue in our society and in the world that is undercover that we need to bring to light. Most of the time we think human trafficking is an international problem but in reality it is also a problem here in the United States. Human trafficking is happening and it cannot be hidden anymore.
